Sky House
At the top of the point, sits a new bayside home overlooking beautiful Moreton Bay. The Sky House makes its’ presence known through its elevated position on the hill. Designed over three storeys, the new home is expertly crafted to showcase sweeping views across the Bay.
Featuring contemporary Kitchen and Living spaces on the top level, four bedrooms, a pool, large workshop and future provisions for a lift, this home will be lived and loved by its’ Owner, and as they transition from their working life well into retirement.
Built to stand the test of time, the design and construction of the dwelling maximises building parameters to capture the best attributes of the site. A series of robust forms crank to maximise bay aspect and breezes. Floor plates twist across the three levels, creating multiple elevated spaces for living.
The material palette changes at each intersecting volume, creating a dynamic facade and defining solid and void. This brought complexity to the build, which the KARDA Constructions team enjoyed. By utilising skills across trades, and through planning and communication, the challenge of the design intent was realised. Together with the Project Team, KARDA worked hard to customise and bring refinement to the resolution of construction details, especially at the unique junctions of the volumetric and material shifts in the building. The realisation of these distinctive design features through the construction process was rewarding.
KARDA takes pride in this project – a house that sits sky high.
